5 Key Benefits of the Robiq Reversible Sink Range (Review)

In reviewing kitchen sink trends, it was the single bowl style which once reigned supreme. These simple and elegant models fit nicely in any number of design styles.

Yet, for many of our customers at Archant, a more versatile solution is often needed. The truth is, family life gets hectic, and a double reversible sink brings a unique flexibility to this busy space.

With our new range of reversible sinks, you can enjoy the trusted build quality Robiq is renowned for, as well as a truly customisable product to best match your needs.

In this article we’ll talk about the top five benefits of a reversible sink and why it could be the ideal choice for your kitchen.

1) Reversible Sinks are Flexible and Efficient

With standard double bowl sinks, the smaller area is firmly situated on the left or right. They can’t be reconfigured as it’s welded together this way.

The first obvious benefit of a reversible style is the ability to change the position of each bowl. Depending on the layout of your kitchen this is ultra-convenient. For busy families who spend a lot of time cooking and entertaining, this makes for a more comfortable and efficient work area.

One of the more popular examples of this is the Robiq 500/250-15 RV. It comes standard with two basket waste drains. Each of the generously sized bowls can be repositioned. This spacious design is ideal for larger kitchens where more room is needed for washing up.

2) Stainless Steel is Extra Durable

Our reversible Robiq sinks are hand-made from the finest .304 grade stainless steel ensuring a durable and strong unit.

The stainless steel is composed of 18% chromium preventing rust and corrosion and 10% nickel adding a lustre to the surface.

For this reason, it’s super resilient for even the most demanding household tasks.

There’s no need to worry about cracks or chipping from cast iron cookware or heavy pots. If cared for properly, it will last a lifetime.

3) Versatile Mounting Options

Each sink has generous flange size of 20mm which allows your fabricator to easily undermount your sink for a modern and minimal look. Alternatively, the sink can be easily installed and fitted in the top mount position.

The majority of sinks we install are done with an undermount design. This is advantageous as you can wipe your benchtop straight into the bowl without going over a sink lip. It sounds insignificant, but in practice, it makes tidying up much quicker. As an added benefit, the undermount style boasts a sleeker appearance with a minimalist appeal.

The overmount style, also referred to as a top mount or drop-in sink, has a lip that sits on top of the bench to essentially hold it in place. The benchtop supports the weight so no added support is necessary. While some may consider overmount sinks dated, they’ve proven their value for many years making them a prime consideration. Our entire range of reversible sinks offer this mounting versatility.

4) Wide Selection of Available Sizes

We talked about the benefits of the larger Robiq sinks such as the Robiq 500/250-15 RV and Robiq 450/200-15 RV, but what about kitchen’s that are short on space? Our new range has smaller options available as well.

For example the Robiq 400/155-15 RV spans a total width of 630mm. It’s also not as deep with the bowl depths measuring at 200mm and 155mm.

For even more efficient use of space, look no further than the Robiq 340/155-15 RV. With its stylish square design, it measures 570mm across. The bowl depth is also shallower than the other models at 200mm and 150mm.

There is a trade-off with this smaller option worth noting. While it takes up less benchtop space, it’s not as convenient for washing larger dishes and cookware.

5) High-Capacity Overflow and Quick Drain Lines

The Robiq reversible line of sinks features specially developed high-capacity overflow to prevent flooding. This is of utmost importance if your tap is accidentally left on.

Coupled with quick drain lines, they’re capable of draining 15 litres per minute. Improving upon the industry standard of 12lt/minute) these sinks are fully compliant with multi-level buildings.

Using four subtle-pressed drain lines, any water will quickly and easily drain away. This will reduce moisture build up, keeping your sink and kitchen safe and hygienic.

What’s Next?

If you desire the ultimate in design flexibility and function, consider a double bowl with reversible drain options. As noted above, they greatly increase the efficiency of your workspace and offer the unique ability to customize your sink layout.

It's these types of convenient features that make Robiq a trusted industry leader.
